Bishop David deFreese has issued the following statement regarding yesterday’s news about the sale of Dana College.
“Of course, there is sadness about the sale of Dana College. The college has been an important part of the Lutheran church here in Nebraska for 125 years.
“I am very encouraged, however, that the new foundation that will support the college will be able to help preserve the heritage of Christian faith upon which Dana was built. Students will continue to have access to a campus pastor, for example.
“It is a time of hope for the college. This sale will allow the college to continue providing educational opportunity to young people and remain a strong part of the Blair community. We are prayerful for Dana’s success into the future.”
Questions regarding the sale of the college should be directed to Nikki Kinsey, director of marketing and communications for Dana College, at (402) 426-7216 or nkinsey@dana.edu.
